Thank you to everyone who entered our first art competition. The standards were very high and selecting the winners was not an easy decision. We hope to repeat the competition again next year!

10 years and under: Paint Category:
1st Lucy Helyer aged 9 years ‘Watercolour’ Excellent painting that flows beautifully allowing the paint its natural transparency.
2nd Maia Porter aged 10 years ‘Painting’ Good use of colours in this Autumn subject with bold moves.
10 years and under: Pencil and Crayon Category:
1st Lottie Duckworth aged 10 years ‘The Mandalorian and Child’ Imaginative semi-abstract work that shows great maturity and forethought in this charming piece.
2nd Aurora Fry aged 9 years ‘A view from my window during Lockdown’ Lots of detailed work in this drawing with the subject matter very poignant during these times.
3rd Sully Todd aged 6 years ‘A Hungry Caterpillar’ very well drawn and coloured in, demonstrating great hand to eye coordination.
General Paint Category:
1st Jennifer Bond ‘Sisters in the Sea’ Beautiful work and reminiscent of the Newlyn painters. Water painted extremely well and the whole subject a delight!
2nd Emma Hogen ‘Oddity Owl 1’ Skilfully painted with the addition of David Bowie style insignia across the face.
3rd Magdolna Todorovic ‘Big Ben’ Acrylic with Brush. Excellent attention to detail and very good composition.
Highly Commended Roger Fry ‘Madam Fry and Rosie’ Lots of good colour mixing and movement in this Monet lookalike.
General Pencil and Crayon Category:
1st Bethany Duncan with her beautiful capture of this bird of prey. A very high standard of work.
2nd Roger Smith ‘Eric and his father’ Well thought out and use of single palette colour sepia.
3rd Elizabeth George – her drawing of a young girl with hair across one side of the face showed a good grasp of portraiture.
